Romero, 44, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017 in Albuquerque.
He was born on January 8, 1973 to Joe R. Romero and Clorinda Benavidez in Las Vegas, N.M.
He received a Bachelor's Degree from NMHU. He worked at the 2nd judicial district court. He loved food, spending time with his family, traveling and the Dallas Cowboys. A Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Gonzalo and Lucy Benavidez; paternal grandparents: Alfredo and Escolastica Romero; nephew: Fabian Ortega.
He is survived by his daughter: Felicia Romero of Albuquerque, NM; mother of his daughter: Amy Padilla of Albuquerque; parents: Joe R. and Clorinda Romero; sisters: Fran Gonzales (Jeff); Patsy Romero (Chris) all of Las Vegas, N.M.; brothers: Leonard Romero (Nicole); Joe Romero, Jr. (Laura) all of El Valle, N.M.; sister: Dolores Crespin (John) of Las Vegas, N.M.; one expectant granddaughter; nephew Christopher and nieces Renee, Alicia, Angelica, Feliz, Carmelina, Roseena, Melvina, Gabriella and Aliana; numerous: uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Rosary service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017 at 9 a.m. also at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father George V. Salazar as Celebrant. Interment will follow La Manga Cemetery in La Manga, New Mexico with the following serving as Casket bearers: David Montano, Anthony Romero, Jesus Martinez, Salvador Archuleta, Joe Romero, Gilbert De La O, Diego Rains and David Vigil.
Honorary pall bearers include a nephew, nieces and Mestizos Car Club members.
