Santos E. Martinez, 56, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, following a brief illness, in Albuquerque.

Santos … our beloved son, father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. … We love you and always will. We miss you already – your smile, your laughter, your sense of humor and wit. Ranchero, hard worker that you were, just like Dad. Loved the ranch and horses, horse-racing – could pick those horses. Sole proprietor of Antares Constructors for many years – the epitome of hard work. Heart of gold and so generous, we love you.

He is preceded in death by his late father, Leopoldo L. Martinez; his sister, Mary Elizabeth Martinez; his paternal grandparents, Celestino and Juanita Martinez, and his maternal grandparents, Frank and Josefita Gygox.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Martinez; three daughters, Andrea Marietta Gallegos, Ashley Marie Martinez, and Alysia Sue Martinez; significant other; Lynn Valdez; one granddaughter, as well as six sisters and one brother respectively, Loretta McDaris, Christine Ciddio and husband, Richard, Geraldine Baca and Art Baca, Martha Martinez, Diane Martinez and spouse, John F. Martinez, brother, John S. Martinez, and SueAnn Sliman and husband, Zorn; numerous nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday and funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, with both services to be at Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will be held at Martinez Family Cemetery in Penasco Blanco, with the following as pallbearers: Nathan Martinez, Richard Ciddio, Art Baca, Pat Lujan, Manny Martinez, and Derrek Garcia. Honorary pallbearer: Makoa Lapilio.
