Lifelong resident of Las Vegas, Serbana Grace Sanchez, 88, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2013, to join her beloved husband and son Carlos Sanchez Sr. and Carlos Sanchez Jr.

Serbana, committed her life to God, family and others. After surviving a severe stroke, she stayed strong and courageous through
the toughest time in her life. Serbana, was very independent and assertive and always had something to do and somewhere to go.
She graduated from Highlands University and became a teacher of all ages. She taught Head Start, elementary, Home Economics, physical education, etc. while also helping her husband at their ranch. She enjoyed family, friends and church activities. She was indeed a social butterfly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Telesfor and Adelina Jaramillo; her loving son, Carlos Sanchez Jr.; husband, Carlos Sanchez Sr.; brothers, Isaac Jaramillo, Jacobo Jaramillo, Bernabe Jaramillo and her only sister, Cordelia Sanchez.
She is survived by her two grandchildren, Gabriella Sanchez and Kenneth Roybal; two great-grandchildren, Ermalinda Grace Sanchez and Isabella Rose Sanchez; brother, Jose Jaramillo and wife Celina; sisters-in-law, Mary Gonzales and husband Eloy,
Francis Martin, Bessie Jaramillo; former daughter-in-law, Rosie Leyba and step granddaughter, Natalie Leyba; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas, located at 1000 Douglas Ave., where her celebration of life will take place with fellowship at 2 p.m. Saturday. Grave-side burial services will follow in San Raphael (Trementina).
Serving as pallbearers will be: Alfonso Sanchez, Jr., Isidro Pacheco, Jimmy Blea, Ralph Maes, Bernabe Jaramillo Jr., and Joseph Valdez.
Honorary pallbearers are: Ben Martin, Michael Gonzales, Vences Sanchez, Tony Higgins, and Geoff Crumm, David Maes and Justin Gonzales.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sanchez have been entrusted to Nelson Funeral Home; 801 Douglas Avenue, Las Vegas; 425-6551.
