Teresa de Jesus Quintana was born Oct. 12, 1919, peacefully passed on to spirit on Sept. 28, 2018, surrounded by her immediate family members: daughter Helena Quintana Arrow-weed; granddaughter Agnes Teresa Moore; great-granddaughters Desiree Logan, Xochitl Logan and JoAnika Logan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Rosario Quintana, and five brothers and sisters. Ms. Quintana is survived by many family members who live in Las Vegas, N.M. area and throughout the country.
She also has many friends who remember her as a kind and generous and a very independent spirit. She loved animals of all kinds and found pleasure in caring for them.
She was a great cook. Her sweets were especially appreciated in the Las Vegas area by friends and family, and elsewhere as well -lovingly packaged for Christmas or some other holiday.
She loved family gatherings and get-togethers where she happily donated her cooking and baking skills. She was a very intelligent woman who taught herself to read and write and was learning something new every day.
Fun to be with, she was a beautiful lady and a beautiful soul who has left this earth to return home.
A mass in her honor is planned for 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. Burial will be a private event with family members.
