Gertrude DAVIS Obituary

August 8, 1923 - April 15, 2014 Our beloved mother, Gertrude Telpner Davis, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2014. Born August 8, 1923, Gert always exemplified a life-long love of learning and the Arts. She married Harold Davis on February 5, 1944, and they recently celebrated their 70th anniversary. She graduated from Chicago Teachers College and UCLA with a Masters Degree in English, and enjoyed a distinguished career teaching junior high school English to gifted students, all while raising her 3 children, Debbie, Judi and Kenny. She had a real zest for life and was always an incredibly hard worker. What a wonderful cook she was, too! She is survived by her husband, 3 children, 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mom, we love you so much and you will be dearly missed.
