Albert P. Harris

June 14, 1923 - January 3, 2014 A fine and gentle man, a man of integrity, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at age 90. Albert was born in Los Angeles to Anna Pinkiert Harris and Morris Harris. He loved his family, his country, and Harris Casuals. Albert attended L.A. High before entering the University of Virginia, where he was a member of ZBT. He served his country in WWII fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. After returning from the war, he joined his father in business at Union Manufacturing Co. - Harris Casuals. He took great pride in the fact that all his textile manufacturing took place solely in the U.S.A. When asked what he did for a living, Albert would often say with a grin: "I'm in romance in pants!" reflecting his love and pride in his career. Albert shared 50 exceptional years with his beloved wife, Rita. In addition to his wife, Albert is survived by his children Tom, Jane (Michael), Jerry (Regine), and Susan (Gordon); and grandchildren Tom, Jennifer, Emily and Katie. He is also survived by his sister Betty Harris, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Norma & Warren Becker, and sister-in-law Shelli Goodman. Services Sunday Jan. 5 at 3pm - Hillside Memorial Park, Culver City.
