Tony passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on October 9, 2004 of heart failure. He was born on June 27, 1918 and was a long-time resident of Orange, CA. Tony was a devoted husband to his wife of 27 years, Linda Ayuso; beloved father to Carole Drapkowski and Brian Ayuso and loving stepfather to Patrick Gillmore, Diane Williams, Michael Gillmore, Laurie Wilding, Kathi Gillmore, and Karen Sisson. Eleven grandchildren ranging in age 8 months to 24 years also survive him. Tony served his country honorably in World War II. He was an Army Air Force Marksman and served with honors in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre and was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a Bronze Star. After his military career, Tony pursued a career in sales of industrial coatings and retired after 40 years. Visitation will take place on Wednesday evening, October 13, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ferrara Colonial Mortuary in Orange, CA. A rosary will be said during visitation beginning at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday Oct. 14 at 11 AM at La Purisima Catholic Church in Orange, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the FF&E Fund (provides funds for the new church) at La Purisima Catholic Church, 11712 Hewes St, Orange, CA 92869.
