Bernard Bermack

April 3, 1922 - May 10, 2014 Born in Saint Louis to Sam Bermack and Eva Ohren Bermack; moved to Los Angeles when he was 8. He fought in World War II, helped liberate a concentration camp, and worked with refugees after the war. He married Audrey Sternfeld, his life-long partner, in 1947. He was an insurance agent, an active square dancer, and a volunteer docent in the LA Zoo. He was involved in many community groups, including the Rotary Club. He was known for his gentle humor, good nature, and genuine interest in people. He is survived by his son Richard Bermack and Richard's wife Nancy Van Zwalenburg; his daughter Francene Bermack Grace and her husband Joe Grace; and two grandchildren, Eli and Sophie Grace.
