Dennis Warden Reed

March 3, 1927 - June 16, 2014 A dynamic mentor of Drama students, Mr. Reed died at the age of 87 in Bishop California on June 16th. Born in Bertram Texas, he served in both WWII (Navy) and the Korean War (Air force). He graduated from Sul Ross University in Texas where he met and became the long-time friend of Dan Blocker (Bonanza) and family. Moving to California he attended and taught drama at UCLA. Later choosing to influence younger students in the arts and crafts of Drama and Debate, Mr. Reed taught at San Gabriel High School for more than 30 years. He mentored many students into successful careers in the Entertainment Industry and offered all a different outlook on life. He married Phillis (Andy) Deneweth after meeting during the Korean War and celebrated 65 years of married. Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, 2 children, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many friends, and students.
