In loving memory we celebrate the life and accomplishments of Harry Henry Exler, who died on December 30, 2012 at the of 87. Harry was born on July 22, 1925, in Homestead Pennsylvania. He attended Carnegie Mellon University, and was a WWII United States Naval veteran. Harry retired after 50 years of working as a businessman during which he created the successful company "LOTOFSOX". Harry was a world traveler, and enjoyed snorkeling on many of his adventures. He loved to observe all species of animals, and could never get his fill of learning anything and everything about them. Harry was also an avid gardener specializing in his beautiful and beloved orchids, and was a member of the Orchid Society. Harry was predeceased by his dearly loved wife of 29 years, Lore Feder Exler. He is survived by Leatrice Holtzman Exler, his wife of 32 years, his three children, Alan Exler (Suzanne), Barbara Exler Malamut (Michael), and Karen Exler Schutz (Ed Kline); four stepsons, Dan Holtzman (Hallie), Mark Holtzman (Jennifer), Wayne Holtzman (Janet), and Bob Holtzman (Sarah); 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grand children. We will all miss his love, confident advice, and wry sense of humor. As his son, Alan, proudly remarked, "My father both lived his life, and died, on his own terms."
A celebration of Harry Exler's life was held on January 2, 2013, at Temple Beth Hillel in Valley Village, California.
