Irwin Garfinkel

Garfinkel, Irwin H. Jan. 22, 1930 - Sept. 29. 2012 Irwin was born in Miami, FL and lived in Philadelphia until the age of 10. He then moved to Los Angeles with his family. He attended Venice High School, UCLA and Southwestern Law School. Irwin was a Public Defender from 1959 until 1972 and a Superior Court Commissioner from 1972 until his retirement in 1995. He loved his family and the law. He also loved traveling, classical music and corned beef sandwiches. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Gloria; son, John; daughter Chava (David) Axelrod; and two amazing grandchildren, Eliana Miriam and Aharon Mordechai. We are grateful to his excellent caregivers; Teresita, Michael, and Aurelia. He was a very sweet man and will be missed. Funeral service will be at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 W. Centinela Ave. on Wednesday, October 3 at 2:00 pm.
