Jerald Henry Skatvold

August 17, 1933 - August 7, 2013
Jerry was born in Fosston, MN to Ruth Marie (Hanson) and Henry Skatvold. He lost his battle with esophageal cancer and passed away peacefully in Kirkland, WA with all four children at his side. He was an eternal optimist and was his jovial self, to the end. He amused all the medical staff battle during his health battle.
He is survived by his loving children Jeffery, Dave, Nancy, step-daughter Andrea, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was married to the late Sammie Kay 43 years; residing in San Marino, CA.
He graduated West Point in 1956 where he sang in the glee club, played hockey for the academy and went on to serve in the Air Force as a pilot and earned an honorable discharged as a Captain, later getting his Master's Degree from USC. He then worked in the metals industry marketing extrusions and forgings and aircraft interior retrofits. He loved skiing, singing with his barbershop quartet, golfing and USC Trojan football. He was a long-time member of the Jonathon Club and had many dear friends there. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. Jerry's cremains will be placed in Fresno, CA next to his beloved wife Sammie Kay, details to follow.
