Joan Coulter Tomlinson

Joan Coulter Tomlinson, 89, passed away peacefully at her Thousand Oaks residence.
She was born to the late Clarence (Jack) and Elizabeth Coulter April 2, 1924 in Los Angeles, Calif. Joan was a UCLA graduate and member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was married to the late Howard (Tom/Stick) Tomlinson and they lived together in the Los Angeles area throughout their married life.
Joan was socially active, maintaining membership in several women's clubs, while also volunteering for many charities. She loved to read, and lead many lively book club discussions. She enjoyed her lovely garden and beautiful home that she filled with family heirlooms.
A dedicated mother, Joan is survived by five children: Tim Tomlinson (Sally), Alice Kenaston (Keith), Amy Tomlinson, William Tomlinson (Jenness), Tom Tomlinson (Traci). She also is survived by nine grandchildren.
Her eternal optimism and warm smile will be missed by all who knew Joan.
An informal family gathering will be held at a later date in celebration of her life.
