John Stanley Logg, 76, passed away at home with family in South Pasadena, CA on June 30, 2013 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Los Angeles to Elizabeth R. and Frank S. Logg, John graduated from Hollywood High School and U.S.C. and was a long-time resident of South Pasadena. In addition to his primary business in the hotel industry, he had a lifelong affiliation with Forest Home Christian Conference Center, and proudly served on its board of directors. For much of his life John attended First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, where he met Nancy, his loving wife and best friend of 50+ years. A core part of his life was his tightly knit bible study group; he was a member of the Oneonta Club of South Pasadena; and for decades he lovingly cultivated his personal orchard at the family home, always sharing its bounty with friends and family. His wife, as well as his three sons, six grandchildren, and sister will remember him as a kind and dedicated provider, a steadfast ally, and a respectable and engaging presence at the debate table.
John's memorial service will be held at San Marino Community Church, 1750 Virginia Road, San Marino, CA on Tuesday, July 9th at 3:00 p.m. and will be followed by a celebration of his life at the family home. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Forest Home.
