Lynne passed away at home in Silver Spring, MD surrounded by family. She was an author and acclaimed national and international journalist
. To all who knew her, she was courageous, energetic and loving.
Lynne graduated from Crenshaw High School in 1974, and launched her career as a journalist after receiving a master's degree from Columbia University in New York. She was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for the Miami Herald in 1988, and spent 4 years in Johannesburg as the Regional Bureau Chief for the Washington Post during Mandela's Presidency. Her first book, "Mandela, Mobutu, and Me" was published in 2003.
Lynne will live in the hearts of family and friends forever.
