October 27, 1937 - April 6, 2014 Marshall (Marsh) A. Gluchow was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on October 27, 1937, the son of Martin and Sarah Lee Gluchow. The family moved to East Liverpool, Ohio in 1946, where Mr. Gluchow attended grade school and high school. He then joined the Army
and entered Officers Candidate School, and graduated as a 2nd Lieutenant, serving as a company commander until his duty ended in 1959. After graduation from Youngstown University in 1963, he earned an M.B.A. from New York University
(1964). After serving for several years as a department store executive in Ohio and New Jersey, he came to Southern California in 1977 as president of the Harris & Frank chain of clothing stores. He later co-owned several Super Cuts salons, and then became a franchisee of Thrifty Car Rental. In 1992 he purchased Valley Motor Center Auto Body, and up to the present time has owned three body shops in the San Fernando Valley. He leaves his wife, Martie Gluchow, his daughter, Cynthia Cohen and her son Max, his son Larry and his wife, Sandra, and two step-sons and their wives and children -- Ron and Julie Pardo, their sons Jacob, Jordan and Matthew, and Dan and Nancy Pardo and their children, Aly and Micah. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Gordon and brother-in-law, Hershel Gordon. Marsh was very active in both business and philanthropic pursuits. He most recently served as Vice-President of the Board of Jewish Free Loan Association and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging, where he chaired the Ethics and Values Committee. He enjoyed golf, travel, and most especially, the company of his loving family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging or the Los Angeles Jewish Free Loan Association. Funeral services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 9, at 11 a.m.
