Mary Cornblith Jeffe

November 17, 1918 - March 20, 2014 Mary was beloved for her wit, charm, caring, impeccable dress and great sense of humor. She and her husband, Harry, who passed away in 2003, shared 67 years of hard work, travel, shopping and community service. She was an incredibly loving mother to her son Douglas Ivan Jeffe and daughter-in-law Sherry Bebitch Jeffe and her Granddog Casey. The Jeffe family shared memorable trips to Asia, Vienna, Paris and, particularly, London and Carpinteria, CA. Born in Los Angeles, Mary was the youngest of eight children. She attended Roosevelt High School and worked for about 50 years as an accountant and bookkeeper. Active in the Optimist Clubs and a long-time supporter of the Optimist Youth Home, Mary served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Los Angeles Optimist Club for more than two decades. She and Harry made the Optimist movement their second career-being mainstays of both the Los Angeles and Crescent Bay Optimist Clubs, attending numerous Optimist conventions, organizing golf tournaments and other events and recruiting support for the Optimist Youth Home. Mary is now at rest at Hillside Memorial Park, alongside Harry. She is survived by Doug, Sherry, Casey, nephew Bob Nater and his family and a host of loving friends and family. In lieu of flowers, please honor Mary with donations to the Optimist Youth Home: Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services Attn: Development 6957 North Figueroa St. PO Box 41-1076 Los Angeles, CA 90041
