Mary Newmark

Newmark, Mary Constance
February 4, 1930 - October 2, 2012
Mary Constance Newmark, age 82, passed away on Tuesday October 2nd at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Born in Illinois, Mary attended nursing school in Illinois before venturing west to Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, Mary started her career as a Registered Nurse at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital, where she met her husband, Tom Newmark, who had been a patient at the hospital. She subsequently worked at two small private hospitals in West Los Angeles, and rose to the level of Director of Nurses. Mary was kind and nurturing, and nursing was the perfect career for her. She received her bachelor's degree from Pepperdine University, and also took community college courses in Beginning French more than a few times. She traveled the world, but also enjoyed being at home, planning parties, taking cooking classes and decorating homes and making them beautiful. She loved Costco, Home Depot, Martha Stewart, Oprah, and HGTV.
She is survived by her husband Tom, her loving children, son Robert Newmark (wife Victoria) and daughter Linda Newmark (partner Randi), and many devoted friends and relatives, including Felicia Bianchi, Gina and Joe Del Re (and family), Marietta and Tom King, and the Lesermans. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mary Deligio, and her brother, Andrew Deligio.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's memory to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to benefit Women's and Children's Health: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, 8700 Beverly Boulevard, Suite 2416, Los Angeles, CA 90048; (877) 427-2443.
A memorial service and celebration of Mary's life will be held on Sunday October 7, 2012 at Noon at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Memorial Park, 1218 Glendon Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90024. Mary brightened any room she was in, and we all love her and miss her beyond words.
