March 4, 1923 - January 6, 2014 Murray Goldberg passed away on January 6, 2014. He was 90 years old. Murray is survived by devoted sons Murray I. and Michael, daughters-in-law Sue and Janice, and grandchildren Catherine and Donald Joseph. Funeral services will be on January 12, 2014 at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Mortuary. Murray was born in the Bronx, New York to Ida and Frank Goldberg on March 4, 1923. After serving in the Army
during World War II
he worked with his father selling produce in New York, eventually moving to Los Angeles where he met and married Mildred Sanders on January 11, 1948 at the West Los Angeles Courthouse. In 2009 Mildred passed. Their marriage lasted 61 years. Murray worked for LAUSD for 29 years. He was an Assistant Principal at Grape St. as well as Principal at Toland Way and Glassell Park. He taught education courses as an instructor and area director at Pepperdine extension and as an associate professor at UCLA
. Murray had lived in Pacific Palisades since 1965. He enjoyed dancing at the American Legion Hall Post 283, watching his beloved Giants baseball, discussing show business, and getting together with friends and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all.
