Norma H. Waters, 73, of Redondo Beach, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Minnesota and moved to Long Beach in 1956. She was married to Rodney Waters from 1958 until 1981. Norma graduated from UCLA and received her Master's degree as a marriage and family therapist from Chapman College. She was in private practice for 38 years. Norma loved helping people and was passionate about her work. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and walking on the beach every morning. Norma is survived by her three children: Julie Waters Eglseder of Easton, MD; Danae Carney of Medway, MA; John Waters of Laguna Niguel, CA; as well as a sister, Verna Eighmy of Westminster, CA. Norma is also survived by seven grandchildren, all of whom have either graduated from or are currently attending college; a fact of which she was very proud. She felt fortunate to have been blessed with four great-grandchildren. Norma believed in helping those in need, especially regarding education.
