Norma Sporn

December 23, 1926 - December 4, 2013 Norma passed away peacefully in her sleep from complications of kidney failure. She graduated from Hollenbeck Junior High School in 1942, Roosevelt High School in 1944, L.A. City College in 1946 and UCLA in 1948 with a BA in Art Education. She taught art at Nightingale Junior High School and received a Bravo Award in 1985 for her extraordinary classroom achievements. She was an active member of The Bead Society and The Craft & Folk Art Museum. She was also a Life Member of the Sierra Club. She is survived by her cousins, Paula Ellis of Covington, WA; Marty Steiner of Santa Rosa, CA; and Dr. David Trachtenbarg of Peoria, IL. Per her request, there will be no memorial service. Remembrances be made in the form of a donation to The Craft & Folk Art Museum.
