Rev. Paul Maria CAPORALI

CAPORALI, Rev. Paul Maria, SDB (b. Terni, Italy, Nov. 12, 1923 - d. Arcadia, CA, Mar. 6, 2012): Fr. Paul had been a member of the Salesian Society of St. John Bosco for over 66 years and a priest for over 57 years. His life took a dramatic turn on August 11, 1943 when allied bombers killed his mother, aunt, niece, and fiancee in his hometown of Terni, Italy. Becoming a Salesian in 1945, he was "recruited" as a founding member of the future Don Bosco Tech (1954) by Fr. Felix Penna, SDB and His Eminence Cardinal McIntyre due to Fr. Paul's college background in Metallurgy. Fr. Paul spent almost all of his years of priesthood in the Los Angeles area as an administrator, teacher, pastoral counselor, and friend to many. His sense of humor, magic tricks, and devotion to our Blessed Mother made him endearing to countless souls. He is survived by his brother Alberto and many relatives in Italy.
