Suzie Levin Corben, age 65, passed away on February 7th at her home in Los Angeles with her loving family by her side. She fought a courageous battle of lung cancer and her strength and "Suzie" sense of humor throughout the journey made everyone around her so incredibly proud and in awe. Suzie was the beloved wife of adoring husband, Dr. Michael Corben. She was preceded in death by her late husband Tom Levin and is survived by cherished brother and sister-in-law John and Terry Levin and family, her loving brother Ron Recht and family, special step-mother Susan Recht, devoted sister Wendy (Patrick) Nevens, treasured children and step-children Shana (Matthew) Zarcufsky, Jason Levin, Matthew (Ashley) Levin, Jeffrey (Amy) Corben, Susan (Steven) Cox, Joshua (Nikki) Corben, precious grandchildren and step-grandchilden Jake and Samantha Zarcufsky, Sadie Levin, Jack and Alex Corben, Lilly Cox, Madeline and Max Corben, and loyal four-legged friend, Maisey. Suzie was born in Los Angeles and attended Hamilton High School prior to graduating from University of Arizona. She resided in West Los Angeles and spent her life dedicated to family, philanthropy and her community. She was most proud of her family, as well as her philanthropic work with the Jay and Rose Phillips Foundation, Southern California Counseling, Westside Center for Independent Living (WCIL), Southern California College of Optometry, Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Center (Dr. Ronald Natalie Cancer Research), Leo Baeck Temple, Harvard-Westlake School, Curtis School, as well as many other special charities that she held near and dear to her heart. Suzie will forever be remembered for her love of family, friends, pooches, worldly travel expeditions and as the woman who could walk and walk until she was made to stop because no one could keep up with her. Suzie truly enjoyed life to its fullest and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Simply put, none of us will ever be the same without her.
