MARY DIFONSO Obituary

DIFONSO, MARY J. December 29, 1923 to October 26, 2010 Mary Joan (Zeoli) DiFonso was born in Jeannette, PA, the fourth child of the late Sebastian and Rosa DiMaria Zeoli. Mary and family came to California in 1964 when her husband accepted a position at Farmers's Insurance Group. When her children graduated from high school, Mary enrolled at Los Angeles City College and she became an X-Ray technician working for the County of Los Angeles. Her first assignment was through USC in the Breast Cancer Detection study in the early 1980's. She was an active member in Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Community. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Rocco, brothers Nicholas and Marion Zeoli, and sister Anne Moffa. She is survived by her daughter Rochelle and husband Gary Edwards, son Christopher and wife Catherine, and grandchildren Drs. Judy and David McIntyre, Rose DiFonso and Andrew DiFonso, and two great grandchildren Patrick Rocco and Monica Ann McIntyre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Mother of Good Counsel to benefit the Senior Appreciation Luncheon Program. Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 12 noon at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 2060 Vermont Ave., Los Feliz 90027. Callanan & Woods Scovern Mortuary (818)242-0258
