David Gates Overholt

January 25, 1935 - November 21, 2013 A life-long resident of Los Angeles, CA, David Gates Overholt, 78, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2013 after an extended illness. Pre-deceased by his parents, E. Llewellyn Overholt, Sr. and Rosalind Gates Overholt and, his beloved wife, Charlotte Morgan Overholt, David is survived by his loving family: Phyllis Overholt Lawrence (sister), E. Llewellyn Overholt, Jr. (brother), Edith Schroeder Overholt (sister-in-law) and an extended family of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, grand nieces/nephews, great grandchildren and his canine companion, Monte. A graduate of Yale (1956) and Stanford Law School (1959), David was in private practice specializing in probate, estate, trust and tax law for 53 years and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve (1959-65). David was an active member of the Ebell Club, Ellis-Orpheus Men's Chorus, Hollywood Bowl Easter Sunrise Service, LA Breakfast Club/Fdn, LA Philharmonic, Metro YMCA-Wilshire, Wilshire Presbyterian Church, and Wilshire Rotary. A private burial service was held at Hollywood Forever Mortuary.
