Jerome SCHWARTZ Obituary

SCHWARTZ, Jerome (Jerry) Nov. 26, 1921- Sept. 25, 2011 Jerry lived his 89 years with a joyful spirit, an intellectual curiosity, an incredible sense of humor and devotion to friends and family. A graduate of Belmont High School and UCLA, he graduated from Harvard Law School in 1948 and practiced law for 50 years in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. In WWII Jerry joined the Navy, serving as a Lieutenant J.G. on an LST. He took part in six first wave invasions, including Okinawa and the Philippines. Jerry devoted years to community service in Los Angeles, and then in Ventura where he lived since 1999. Jerry and his beloved wife Ruth celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. Always in their hearts was their son, Jeffrey, who died of leukemia at the age of 21. Jerry was adored by his son, Michael, daughter-in-law Laurie and grandsons Nicholas and Daniel.

I had the pleasure of attending a UCLA basketball game with Jerry and his wife Ruth. They were super friendly people. He was a very friendly man.
I can only imagine he was a wonderful father.
Rest in Peace.............
