Linda Hamilton Obituary

Hamilton, Linda Dangcil
Linda passed away after a lengthy illness. She died as she lived, with her family by her side. Known professionally as Linda Dangcil she enjoyed her entire life in show business, starting at age three and continuing until her health precluded it. Linda was a gifted Actress/Singer/Dancer who was on Broadway dancing at 12 in Peter Pan with Mary Martin, acted opposite James Garner in Maverick, and sang on hundreds of commercials. She was a principal dancer in the iconic film West Side Story and often exclaimed "It's a Miracle!" as Sister Ana on The Flying Nun. Linda's favorite roles were Wife of forty years to her composer/arranger husband Dick Hamilton, Mother to Linda Michele Casto (Bill) and Sky Hamilton, Grandmother to Ameleia, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Godmother, and Friend. Predeceased by her parents Jose and Josephine and her brother Rudy. She also leaves her brother Mel. Her beautiful smile, poised demeanor, patient listening, sage advice, and especially her ability to concurrently be a star on stage and screen - and an incredibly devoted wife and mother - will forever be cherished. Linda's Catholic faith was her beacon throughout her life and inspired everyone who knew her; she brought many people to God. She dances and sings again, and we all say Halleluiah! Recitation of the Rosary will be held at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 310 S. Van Ness Ave, LA, on Tuesday, May 19 at 10am. A 10:30am Funeral Mass will follow. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the family home directly after the Mass.

Dear Linda,
Your Mom seemed so special. While I never knew her, the fond memories you have shared, brought me closer. If you and your Mom are anything alike, I'm forever grateful.

Prayers, light and Angel love,

May you find everlasting joy dancing with the angels and peace in the loving arms of God. And may your family find comfort in your light that still shines upon them. You and your beloved family will always remain in my heart and in my prayers.
