Dear Aunt Sisi, I had dad read this to you at your bedside a few days before you passed because you deserve to hear these words. I leave them here now in loving memory.
Here's to celebrating the life of an incredibly strong, intelligent, and compassionate aunt whose capacity to love those around her is absolutely boundless. Here's to celebrating a woman who's taught me what it means to live the life that one has with grace, meaning, and worth.
I'm beyond blessed to have had you in my life, although it may have not been as often or for as long as I would have truly wished. I can promise you one thing, and that is that you will continue to be in my thoughts and inspire me in everything I do.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the childhood memories you've provided me with, for your amazing support at my graduation, and for the conversations we've shared and the wisdom you've imparted unto me over the years.
I love you more than you know.
Your niece,
Jill

I remember Aunt Sisi coming to meet me and pick me up after camp one year. I was so excited to see her. I walked around Point of Rock with Aunt Sisi and my mom, looking at different shops or tourist points. I'm not a big fan of tourist attractions, and yet somehow, I had so much fun on this day. We went into a small craft shop and I admired some of the beautiful boxes, but I couldn't buy any of them, so I walked out, the images still swimming in my eyes. My mom and I went to a nearby shop and waited for Aunt Sisi to catch up. She finally did come to join us, and she had one of the boxes I was admiring. "I saw how happily you admired this box, and I wanted you to have it," she said. Plain and simple. It makes you happy, and I want you to have it. Aunt Sisi is a woman with a beautiful and kind soul, and she will be dearly missed.
