GALEN, Albert Born May 24, 1928, in Helena, Montana and passed away January 29, 2011, in Covina, California surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; his four children: Sheila (Burr) Baldwin, John (Gretchen) Galen, Kimi (Phil) Clayton, Jim (Kris) Galen; nine grandchildren: Brandon (Tami) Baldwin and Shea Baldwin; Andy, Holly, and Maureen Galen; Alex, Ariel, and Abby Clayton; and Baylee Galen; great-grandchild James Baldwin; Peggy's three children: Laurie (Tom) Carvell, Dan Ormseth, Eric (Elvira) Ormseth and her five grandchildren: Nate and Drew Carvell, George, Ben and Erica Ormseth. Al was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Sheila. He is survived by his two sisters Barbara (Gordon) Stewart and Ruth "Spud" Worden, along with many nieces and nephews. Albert earned a BA in Business as well as his Juris Doctor from the University of Montana. In 1960, he earned an LLM from the University of Southern California with a specialization in tax law. Mr. Galen was a founding partner of the law firm of Holley and Galen in Los Angeles, where he practiced law for over forty years. He was a member of the California and Montana State Bar Associations; the Chancery and Jonathan Clubs of Los Angeles, South Hills Country Club, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Par Busters, the Montana Historical Society, and Los Angeles Westerners. He earned the Order of the Constantine from Sigma Chi fraternity. He was an Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Covina, California. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: City of Hope, in Duarte, California, and the Parker Youth & Sports Foundation in Yakima, Washington.
