Alice Loud Obituary

Loud, Alice Astikian
April 8, 1917 - December 2, 2010
Alice Elizabeth Astikian was born to Yeprem and Satenig Astikian on April 8, 1917, in Toledo, Ohio.
Alice graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1935, and attended college at Case Western University, where she graduated in 1939 from the Cleveland School of Art.
Alice, a gifted artist, worked in metals, oil paints, plastics, as well as fabrics. Her eye for beauty and bent to innovation prompted her to pursue the skills and knowledge she believed could aid her in the design and production of her art work. To that end, she enrolled in a Solid Geometry course at Los Angeles City College, and it was there that she met her husband, Charles Loud. On June 15, 1957, the two were married in Gethsemane Church in Los Angeles.
Alice and Chuck enjoyed traveling throughout California and to Europe, while growing beautiful gardens at their home in Canoga Park. Above all, family was of paramount importance to Alice. She and Chuck enjoyed entertaining, hosting family events in their home, and having their nieces and nephew visit regularly. Alice was devoted to three things in her life, art and design, her family, and to her husband Charles.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Yeprem and Satenig, sister Grace, brother Harry, and sister Nancy. She is survived by her husband Charles and sister Isabel.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday December 11th at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills - (800) 204-3131.
