January 17, 1922 - December 14, 2013 Annette Kraus passed away on December 14, 2013 at the age of 91. Born Annette Meyer, the youngest of five siblings, on January 17, 1922 in Pasadena, California, she spent her entire life living in the greater Los Angeles area. Following graduation from Fairfax High School, she was employed for several years as a legal secretary before marrying Phillip Kraus, a veteran, attorney and entrepreneur, in 1948. Annette and Phil spent 50 happy years together before his passing in 1999. Together, they raised two daughters and were active members of numerous community and philanthropic organizations, in Los Angeles and on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, where they made their home for nearly 40 years. Annette was a homemaker, a cherished mother to her two daughters, Kathy (Larry)Levit and Laurie Kraus Lacob, and a loving grandmother to her six grandchildren, Jaynee (Sean) Leventhal, Marc Levit, Kirk Lacob, Kelly Lacob, Kent Lacob and Kayci Lacob. Family togetherness meant everything to Annette, and she recently experienced the joy of holding her newborn great-granddaughter, Ava Leventhal. The family would like to acknowledge with gratitude the excellent care that she received at the Agoura Hills/Meadowbrook Retreat where she was a resident for the past four years, and the compassionate service provided by Vitas Hospice Care. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at Hillside Memorial Park, Los Angeles on Thursday, December 19 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Annette's memory may be made to the
