Passed away on September 25, 2013 at age 87 surrounded by friends and family at the Gardens of Park Balboa, in Van Nuys, California, the place that he called home for the past 18 months. He was born in the Bronx on October 22, 1925, and lived on Long Island until 1995 when he moved out to California with his wife, Rosemarie. He was proud of his service during World War II under General Patton's Third Army, but especially proud of his daughters, sons-in-law and four grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosemarie Colombo and his daughters Cynthia and Claudia and their husbands, James Geoghegan and Darrell Miers; and his grandchildren Abigail and Ian Geoghegan and Colby and Jensen Miers. He will also be remembered by the friends, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. A funeral mass will take place at 11 am, Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Church of the Visitation, Los Angeles, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to: Assisted Home Hospice Foundation, 468 Pennsfield Place, Suite 100, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360.
