My husband and I were honored to have Rabbi King marry us in 2008. What a warm, gentle and kind soul. He also performed my husband's bris and officiated at his bar mitzvah. He has made an everlasting impact on our lives and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, Rabbi King.

When I knew him in the early 70's, Bernie was a real mensch. I remember well his explanation of the importance of Bar Mitzvah, from an anthropological point of view. Most people have a miserable time during adolescence, but Bar Mitzvah provides a happy counterpoint, and hopefully, many Jews will look back on that time with one bright spot, and will be a Jewish memory of Bar Mitzvah celebration and accomplishment.

He was such a great man and acquaintance. What a great privilege to share our time here on earth together in this brief time of our lives. I'll miss him at Angel Stadium.

A true mensch, friend and spritual leader. He was always there with a hug and kind word. Thank you Rabbi King for taking the time to talk with the children and making each and everyone of them feel "special". You will be greatly missed.
