Wong, Carol L.
July 6, 1915 - October 11, 2010
Carol L. Wong was born in a village in Hoisan, Canton, China. At 18, she emigrated to San Francisco. She married Sam Wong of Los Angeles in 1935, and they operated a successful Hand Laundry in the Larchmont area of Los Angeles. She became a naturalized citizen in 1954. After retiring from the Laundry Business, she became a Tai-Chi teacher. She moved to Rio Rancho, NM in 1991. She loved to cook, to garden, and to take walks. She was known as a person with a pure heart and blessed all with whom she came into contact. She had 2 children and 8 grandchildren. A memorial service was held last Saturday in Albuquerque. The service in LA will be held this Saturday, October 23, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Chapel, Inglewood Park Cemetery, 720 E. Florence Ave. in Inglewood. The memorial dinner will be held at the Empress Harbor Seafood Restaurant, 111 N. Atlantic Blvd. in Monterey Park. Contributions in memory of Carol Wong can be made to Albuquerque Chinese Baptist Church, 2721 Arizona St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
