BROWN, Elbert Haynes "Brownie" Born: November 11, 1924 in Harvel, Illinois Passed: April 10, 2013 in La Habra, California Elbert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Florine, of nearly 60 years. Surrounded by family and friends, he died peacefully in La Habra, at the home they built together in 1957. He is survived by brother Bill Brown (Bev), and sister Donna Faye Koci (Dick), as well as sons Stan (Pricilla) and David (Claire) and grandchildren, Amanda, Jacqueline, Alexander, Nicholas, and Kathleen. Elbert acquired the nickname "Brownie" when he joined the Navy V12 program and attended University of Texas earning a degree in Aeronautical engineering. In 1965 he realized that civil engineering was his passion and he founded EH Brown General Contractor. The business prospered and he kept a watchful eye on it until his passing. Brownie was Gracious, Kind, Generous, Honest, Diligent and Persevered for us all. He is now with Our Lord God, and beloved wife, Florine, as Jesus has prepared. AMEN. All are invited to join the family at services on Sunday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. at La Habra United Methodist Church, 631 N. Euclid St. In his honor, a gathering at the altar will follow directly at noon. A reception to follow services at his home in La Habra. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to
