Elizabeth Davidson Obituary

Davidson, Elizabeth Haight
Surrounded by family at her home, Elizabeth passed away peacefully November 20, 2010. She was born in Los Angeles April 3, 1930, and attended Marlborough School and UCLA, where she was a Theta. She taught school in Los Angeles, Florida and Texas. With the start of a family her time was devoted to her children and her volunteer activities, which included the Junior League and the Docent program at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She loved the outdoors and spent time with the children skiing, backpacking and camping. Her second career became fundraising for the Junior Arts Center, Marlborough School and The Music Center. Her love of art, music and history never ceased, and her favorite travels would always include an in-depth study of whatever area was on the agenda. Gardening and reading were an important part of her life, and she enjoyed raising ribbon-worthy orchids outdoors. Her late husband Bill and their children were her main concerns, and she followed their lives closely - from time to time making a few pertinent suggestions. She was beloved for her dry wit and candid observations, her caring for others, her wonderful cooking and entertaining, her tireless volunteering, and for her uncomplaining struggle with ovarian cancer for fourteen years. She leaves her daughters Diana Eastman and Cynthia Eastman Simon, son Matthew Eastman, sister Marion Anderson, and stepdaughter Dr. Kerry Davidson. Any donation in her memory may be made to LACMA, 5909 Wilshire Blvd., 90036, Marlborough School, 250 S. Rossmore Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90004 or The Colleagues at 3312 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90405. Services will be held January 6, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at All Saints' Episcopal Church, Beverly Hills, CA.
