Cofsky, Eugene B.
December 6, 1927 - November 1, 2009
Eugene B. Cofsky, an entertainment marketing executive died on November 1, 2009 at Tarzana Hospital. He was 81 and lived in Tarzana, CA. Mr. Cofsky spent 43 years with an advertising agency founded by Monroe Greenthal. The agency was acquired by Ted Bates, Inc. in 1969. Mr. Cofsky rose through the ranks eventually moving to Los Angeles in 1974 to build their West Coast Operations. Mr. Cofsky left the company in 1991 to pursue his own entertainment marketing consultancy Ted/Lor Marketing. Mr. Cofsky was extremely active in community affairs. He was a member of The Synagogue of Performing Arts serving on the board for 14 years.
He was active on the Board of Directors and Executive Vice President of Variety : The Children's Charity. He was West Coast Public Relations Director of The Will Rodgers Institute and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Mr. Cofsky is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Rita, his son Ted & daughter-in-law Beth, daughter Lori & son-in-law Perry and Grandchildren Madeleine and Elliot. His brother Sheldon, sister-in-law Corinne and nieces Susan and Robin.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 3 at 2:00pm Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills.

Gene was a wonderful gentleman. I enjoyed his company and respected his involvement and concern for his community and his fellow man. I also enjoyed playing golf with Gene as he was a good sport and always had a funny story to share. I will definitely miss him.
