George Tigner Obituary

March 3, 1926 - October 4, 2013 (87), passed away peacefully in his home in Los Angeles, CA. Born in Krakow, Poland. As a young teenager, George, his mother, Sophia, and brother, Marek, escaped his homeland's Nazi occupation to the U.S., where he later proudly served the U.S. army in Europe. He continued his public service as an L.A. County Supervising Probation Officer in Santa Monica, CA. His passions included spending time with family and friends, as well as playing chess and bridge, garnering much expertise in both. George had a reputation for being a generous gentleman. He is survived by his children, Caren Hansen, David Tigner, his grandson, Justin Hansen and his brother, Marek. He was loved and will be missed by everyone that knew him, especially his family. Services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park, anticipated for Monday, October 7. Please contact Hillside for details (800-576-1994). In lieu of flowers, please donate to an Alzheimer's charity.
