April 6, 1931 - October 9, 2013 Harriet Ann (Lenhart) Haddad, most recently a resident of Pasadena, California, passed away October 9, 2013. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on April 6, 1931, to Roy F. Lenhart and Harriet A. Douglass. A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Music, she taught music first at St. Mary's School in Minnesota and later in the Los Angeles Public Schools. She also privately taught piano to many students from her home in Studio City. In the 1970s and 1980s, she both worked and served as a volunteer for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. She also was a longtime volunteer at St. Saviour's Chapel and St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Studio City, and more recently at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Westchester. She is survived by her husband, Edmonde A. Haddad, her sister Rosemary Prohofsky, her sons Mark, Brent, and John, and her five grandchildren. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Los Angeles Philharmonic Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles; checks should be made out to "Los Angeles Philharmonic," with "in memory of Harriet A. Haddad (for YOLA)" in the memo line, and may be sent to Friends of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Attn: Development Department, 151 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
