WEISS, Henry Albert Oct. 2, 1921-Mar. 17, 2013 Beloved husband to Anita, father to Donna (Nathan) Lam, Rochelle (William) Handy, Jeffrey (Rita) Weiss, grandfather to Michael (Alexis) Lam, Jenna (Joey) Pitson, Sarah Handy (Sarah Gibson), Alex (Devon) Handy, Erica Weiss, Jordon Weiss, and great-grandfather to Lyla Pitson, Max Lam and Olivia Pitson. Founder and owner of Weiss Investment Properties and legend in the real estate business. His philanthropy included the Israeli Air Force, Asaf Harofeh Medical Center, Atidim and the Ben Gurion University of the Negev where he received an honorary doctorate. He was a graduate of the USC School of Pharmacy and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He supported many local institutions which included the Academy for Jewish Religion, California, Temple Beth Am, Stephen S. Wise Temple and a host of institutions in Israel. He felt blessed to be able to give and did not look or seek recognition for his gifts.
He will be missed greatly by the hundreds of employees and staff members at Weiss Family Properties and the thousands of lives he touched and enriched. He went to the office every day up to the end. He was always the smartest guy in the room. Funeral Services will be held today (Wednesday) 3 PM at Beth Olam Cemetery (Santa Monica Blvd. at Gower St.) Malinow & Silverman Mortuary 800-710-7100
