Howard GREENFIELD Obituary

GREENFIELD, Dr. Howard J. Passed away peacefully on October, 11, 2010 in the presence of his loving family - his wife Edith, daughter Nancy, sons James and Hayes, and grandson Mishone. He was a deeply spiritual, gentle, and modest man who gave of himself fully to his family and patients. He was in private practice for forty-two years, the last twenty in Los Angeles. He specialized in nasal and sinus disease and pain management. He devoted his career to developing microscopic approaches to nasal and sinus surgery and was uncompromising in his commitment to his principles and standards. Dr. Greenfield was on the staff of Cedars-Sinai Medical center for 20 years and at the UCLA Medical Center for nine. He was honored by the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery for his 18 years of teaching. He lectured at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and at other medical centers in the United States and Europe. He received an Emeritus recognition for his distinguished service to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. After retiring from private practice in 1996, he spent four years defending and advocating for patient's rights. We shall miss him deeply.
