Ilija Panajotovic Obituary

Panajotovic, Ilija ``Ika" A film producer, director, attorney, member of the Motion Picture Academy and the HFPA, once a Yugoslav Davis Cup player and Wimbledon Semi-Finalist, passed away peacefully on July 18th due to cardiac arrest. Always proud of his Serbian heritage, a caring, gentle and loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, was born and raised in Belgrade, Yugoslavia where he earned his law degree. After a tragic car accident that prevented him from joining the Jack Kramer Tennis Pro Tour, he came to Los Angeles and before starting a prolific career of film making, earned a Political Science degree at UCLA. IKA will be eternally remembered and loved by his wife Elena; son Eric; daughter Sonja and sister Mira. Grandchildren Sean and Lauren; brother-in-law Sava; daughter-in-law Ja and other members of the family. Services will be held Saturday July 21st at 11:00 AM at the Old St. Sava Serbian church 4355 2nd St., East Los Angeles. Services under the direction of Risher Montebello Mortuary 1316 Whittier Blvd., Montebello 323-728-1261.
