Jack Hirsch

April 11, 1949 - November 7, 2017 Jack Hirsch, 68, of Allentown, PA, formerly of Los Angeles, CA, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the beloved husband of Diana (Dickman) Hirsch and the father of Joseph Hirsch. The couple would have celebrated 29 years of marriage on December 22nd. Born in Germany in a DP camp after the Holocaust and the youngest person to proudly receive his American citizenship on his own; at the time at the age of 7. He was the son of the late Joseph and Eva Hirsch, who were Holocaust survivors. He lived in Israel for several years and served in the Israeli Defense Force there. Jack had been a computer programmer, working for companies such as Disney and Princess Cruises. He was a member of Congregation Sons of Israel in Allentown and was a Board Member of the L.V. Kosher Commission and the L.V. Mikvah Association. He was a well-known musician and composer in Israel; as a professional guitarist, he played many venues over the years, the latest being at Congregation Sons of Israel. Survivors: wife; and son, Joseph Hirsch. Services were held at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton Streets, Allentown. Interment followed in Sons of Israel Cemetery, Whitehall, PA. Contributions may be made to the Rabbi's Benevolent Fund, Congregation Sons of Israel, 2715 W. Tilghman St., Allentown, PA 18104.
