Jack and Ann were both sensitive and kind people. They listened well and they spoke well. You wanted to be around them.
We knew them in the ‘50’s, when they lived on top of a hill above the Elysian Heights Elementary School, in Echo Park. Jack was teaching at his alma mater, probably as an adjunct faculty member, at the Law School.
Although they were both accomplished, they didn’t talk about their accomplishments, but concentrated on you, their friend.
They were both wonderful people.

My having never met Mr. Levine is my misfortune. Given his biographical sketch, it's no surprise his daughters and grandchildren have turned out so well. I'm sorry for "our" loss.

What a thoughtful, kind, and generous person he was. How glad (and lucky) I feel to have known him. Everyone who loves the Watts Towers owes him a debt of gratitude!

May his memory be for a blessing. His goodness will live on through his wonderful daughters and grandsons.
