John Sims Obituary
March 6, 1942 - October 6, 2010
Passed away peacefully at home on surrounded by loved ones. Preceded in death by mother and stepfather, Ruth and Les Shuff. Survived by his wife, Kristin Sims, children Alexandra (Sims) Brew, David Sims, Valerie Sims, and Patrick Sims, stepchildren Ryan Shama and Lindsay (Shama) Olson, and seven grandchildren. John lived and worked in Santa Monica, California for more than thirty years as an attorney and real estate developer. He was a passionate golfer and valued his time and friendships at the Bel Air Country Club and Jonathan Club. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

My friend John was a great story teller, a lover of good music and a wonderful person to travel with and to know and love.

John was always fun to be with on the golf course or in the Bel-Air grill room. He always had an upbeat attitude with a smile and a good joke to offer. The world needs more people like that.

Vaya con Díos, John. I haven't seen you since we lived together at Ft. Rich and graduated from AHS. We also shared the Navyin common. I wished I could have seen you at least once more.
I pray those you have left behind that He will comfort them.

I also graduated from Anchorage High in 1960, joined the Navy and retired from the Navy in 1980. Like John, I also pursued a career in real estate and am currently still active in that pursuit.

I will really miss john next time I goto vail. He showed me his eagle scout medal. He got it at age 15. His death was right after his dog Duke's. I will really miss him.
