September 24, 1937 - March 14, 2014 John Joseph Agoglia passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 14, 2014, after a three-year battle with cancer. He was 76 years old. John was born to the late Gertrude De Salvo and John Agoglia, Sept. 24, 1937, in Brooklyn, NY. He graduated from Brooklyn's Ft. Hamilton High School, and later attended Brooklyn College. John married his longtime sweetheart, Joanne Marion Posillico, in 1961. They lived together in Staten Island, NY, and Park Ridge, NJ, before relocating to Los Angeles in 1980. John began his career with Barclays Bank, and then joined the CBS television network in 1964. After 16 years at CBS, where he left as Vice President of Business Affairs, John joined NBC and rose in the ranks to become President of NBC Enterprises. He retired from the network in 1998 after 18 years. After departing NBC, John launched a media consulting firm; was appointed President of the Board of LAX Airports Commission; served on the board of directors at KCET; and was the board chairman of the Los Angeles Universal Preschool program. John spent much of his free time in Sun Valley, ID, where he loved to ski during the winter and fly fish during the summer. He was an avid traveler and enthusiastic cook, who delighted in entertaining friends and family. John was preceded in death by his wife Joanne, who passed away in 2010. He is survived by two children, Anthony and John, both of Los Angeles. Three grandchildren, Steven, Jamie and Tess, also survive him in addition to his brother, Thomas, of Brooklyn, NY.
