Kathleen Isabel ASHDOWN-NADOR

ASHDOWN-NADOR, Kathleen Isabel Kathleen was born on August 6, 1920 in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada to Ada and William Crosbie. On December 3rd, Kathleen was reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Robert E. Ashdown. Kathleen lived a full and eventful life. Born in Canada, she moved to Los Angeles with her family and graduated from Manual Arts High School in 1938. After high school, she worked for Barker Brothers Furniture store where she met her husband, Robert Ashdown. They eventually married and had their only child, Donna Jeanne. Kathleen was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. A highlight in her life was the time she spent working for Mrs. Frank Roger Seaver as her personal assistant. For more than thirty years, this position allowed her the opportunity to help organize philanthropic gifts to institutions such as Seaver College of Pepperdine University, Pomona College, and the University of Southern California. Upon retiring, Kathleen moved to Westlake Village from Inglewood, CA in order to spend more time with her daughter and her family. Time spent with Donna and John, her three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren brought her immense joy. Kathleen will be most remembered for her joyous spirit. She lived life to the fullest and found the best in every situation. Kathleen left an impression on all she came in contact with. The sparkle from her eyes and radiant smile warmed the hearts of all. Kathleen leaves behind a legacy of love for her family and friends. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Ada and William, her husband Robert, and her five siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Donna and son-in-law John Scott, her grandchildren Heather Gilbert (Brian), Hilary Corbin (Casey), and Holly Aiken (Damon), eight great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Kathleen's life will take place at 12 noon on Monday, December 13 in the Little Church of the Flowers at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.
