Tribute to Kelly Paige DeGon

On the morning of May 15 this world lost a brave, kind, beautiful and intelligent woman. Kelly Paige DeGon always had a ready smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She was an avid reader who pursued knowledge and experience with tireless enthusiasm, as she did with each aspect of her life. Whatever Kelly took on, she did it to the fullest.
Kelly continually pursued education and personal growth and from 2009 to 2011, she interned and then volunteered with the LAPD, giving back to the community of which she was such a vibrant part. Kelly also had an active interest in genealogy and was an important contributor to that community.
But Kelly wasn't just all brain, she was body too. This 5'10" blonde SoCal girl was an athlete. Though she was modest about her accomplishments, Kelly worked with Team in Training, swam the Alcatraz Sharkfest in 2010, played water polo, did mud runs for fun, and finished several marathons. There was nothing Kelly couldn't do when she set herself to it.
After a lifetime of searching, Kelly had found the love of her life, Maurice Ghobrial, and was looking forward to their marriage in August. Kelly was truly the happiest she had ever been and beamed with love whenever she spoke of Maurice and the life they were building together.
Kelly Paige DeGon embodied a grace, elegance, and loveable quirkiness the like of which is rare and special. A light has gone out far too soon; Kelly will be missed by all her friends and colleagues at Scherzer International. We are truly blessed to have known her.
