Margery McDonnell Obituary

McDonnell, Margery Joyce
July 24, 1945 - December 24, 2010
Margery passed unexpectedly at her home in Westlake Village on Christmas Eve, leaving behind her husband of 42 years, Michael McDonnell, her two sons, Matthew and Mark McDonnell, sister Jill Ferrera and husband Terry, her Aunt, Elaine Jacob , daughter-in-law Jennifer McDonnell, Grandchildren Makayla and Bryce.

Margery was an avid reader, incredible cook, truly seen as the glue that held the family together and could often be seen walking the Lake and Westlake neighborhoods every day by herself or with her walking partners. Margery was known for working tirelessly to make sure all were taken care of without a second thought or need for acknowledgment. Her energy and zest for life were contagious and those that knew her will truly miss those sparkling blue eyes and beautiful smile.

A ceremony will be held at the Westlake Inn Province Room starting 11:00 AM, on Saturday, January 22nd. The family has asked that you hold a few memories of her and make sure that some of the memories make you laugh!

We are saddened to hear of Margery's death. Although we had only met her a couple of times, she was definitely someone we would have liked to spend more time with. She was friendly & warm to us & we know Mike misses her terribly!! Deepest condolences to Mike & family.

Dear Mike and Family,
I remember Margy from going on a family/friend vacation to Yosemite with all of you including Mark and Matthew as kids. We had a fun time. Praying for your peace and comfort during this sad time.

I too exercised with Margery at Total Woman, Donna's class and at Curves. Margery was always such fun, and just lit up the room with her personality and zest for life.
I am so sad to read of her passing. But I take solace in the fact that I feel Margery enjoyed every minute of her life.

Dear Mike and family,

I will always remember Marge's twinkle in her eyes and wonderful smile when she greeted me. She made everyone feel special by just being in her presence.
My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Love,
Mary Little

Margery and I exercised together for years- first at Total Woman and then in Donna's class and finally at Curves. It was with great shock and sadness that I learned of her passing. She was a vibrant and out going person who will be missed by everyone she touched.
