Marian SHARPLES Obituary

SHARPLES, Marian, IHM 90 and a member of the Immaculate Heart Community for 73 years, died peacefully November 24, 2010 at the Immaculate Heart Community Residence in Los Angeles. She began her teaching career in parochial elementary and high schools. In 1949 she began an illustrious career teaching English at Immaculate Heart College, which lasted thirty-one years. She was considered a pillar of the English department. During her time at the college she earned her Master's degree and her Ph.D from the University of Southern California. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the Calvary Cemetery on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marian's honor can be made to Immaculate Heart Community at 5515 Franklin Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90028.
